Proxama (AIM: PROX) the International mobile proximity commerce and payment solutions company today announces that CEO, Dr. Neil Garner, will step aside to focus on innovation and product development for the business.
Neil founded Proxama (originally Glue4 technologies) in Norwich ten years ago this August with a foresight of the future importance of mobile commerce. In addition to a base in Norwich, the business now also has an international presence in London, San Francisco, New York and Toronto.
He will remain as CEO until his replacement has been found, and will then move in to a new role that will leverage his expertise in creating valuable market solutions with emerging technologies to drive future innovation, product development and thought-leadership opportunities for the business.
Following the recent acquisition of Aconite and announcements of big contract wins with Navy Federal Credit Union, Exterion Media and Eye Airports, Proxama is experiencing a period of high growth in both the payment and marketing divisions.
As the company approaches its 10th birthday, this growth has sparked a shift in emphasis for the business towards customer support, service operations and further international sales growth.
Dr. Neil Garner current CEO of Proxama said: “Proxama’s focus for the future is two-fold. Firstly, realising our ambitious plans for development, industry leadership and growth is the primary objective for the business. The acquisition of Aconite at the end of last year, supports our need to focus on sales growth within our targeted geographical regions and so an aggressive drive in these areas will be the large focus for our new CEO.
However, we are a technology business that operates in the extremely fast-moving and competitive mobile sector. We therefore also realise the importance of innovation to these plans for growth, and understand the crucial role that it plays in keeping us ahead in the industry.
The change to my role supports Proxama’s continued drive for future innovation, and the shift in my focus will enable me to devote more time to building new products and partnerships that are driven by emerging technologies. A commitment to product development and creating cutting-edge innovation will be equally vital to the business as we move into the future.”
Neil is a well-known and well respected member of the international technology community and is already at the forefront of shaping the future of mobile proximity commerce. He is often on speaking panels of leading B2B events in the space, as well as providing insight and forecasting of the latest technological trends.
Neil added, “An important part of my new role will be to use my experience and expertise to further build upon Proxama’s profile as thought-leaders in the market. Since the beginning, we have always seen the opportunity in creating valuable services that use consumer technologies to link people and brands. This ethos is part of Proxama’s DNA and I’m looking forward to having increased capability to share more of our guiding principles in the future.”
