Proxama Wins UK Digital Experience Award

2nd December 2015

London, 2 December 2015: Proxama PLC (AIM: PROX), the leading mobile proximity marketing experts, are proud to announce that they have won an award for ‘Best Innovation’ at the UK Digital Experience Awards 2015.

The UK Digital Experience Awards recognise and celebrate the delivery of an exceptional experience through digital media channels and Proxama were recognised for their compelling and very real story of the innovation behind their Proximity Network Solution and Loka App.

Responding to a need to re-imagine cities to combat issues such as falling footfall, failing loyalty and declining profits, Proxama deployed mobile proximity services across retail, QSR, transport and tourism sectors. Culminating in the Proxama Network, the operation utilises proximity marketing technology, including Bluetooth low energy (BLE) beacons, Near Field Communication (NFC) and QR codes. The network means that all city sectors are able to deliver contextually relevant, real-time messages to consumers’ mobiles via the company’s award winning platform, TapPoint®.

Jon Worley, CEO of Proxama’s proximity marketing division comments: “We are delighted to receive the award for ‘Best Innovation’, especially as we were up against some tough competition in the category; including Thomas Cook Group, LV= and Standard Life. A smart city calls for innovative solutions to very real world problems, be it resources, logistics, communications, technology or commerce: Proxama has sought to respond to a desire to re-imagine cities, using communications and technology to combat issues such as falling footfall, failing loyalty and to offer genuinely new and attractive shopping, service and leisure experiences. From a test bed in Norwich, following our Innovate UK win, the proximity network has expanded rapidly across the UK and now includes, London buses, airports and taxis, meaning brands can communicate digitally with millions of consumers via their mobile.”

Congratulating the winners, Neil Copping, Managing Director of Awards International, said: “We are truly inspired by all the best practice showcased at the UK Digital Experience Awards. We have seen many outstanding examples from companies who are doing truly amazing things in digital customer experience and as a result have reaped the benefits in terms of business growth and customer engagement. Today gave us the opportunity to acknowledge those companies and celebrate with both the finalists and the winners.”
