In October 2015, the much-discussed Payment Networks’ Liability Shift associated with EMV (EuroPay, MasterCard, and Visa) is due to take effect in the United States. Meanwhile, there have been major developments in the NFC mobile payments space, with the recent launch of Apple Pay, Samsung Pay and a reinvigorated Google Wallet proposition.
Both these events present near-term challenges as well as significant opportunities for banks and credit unions, credit card issuers, issuer processors and merchants. Since EMV is a core component of any mobile payment solution, EMV migration can be regarded as a crucial first step in building out an NFC payments capability such as Host Card Emulation (HCE).
In this webinar, Proxama in conjunction with Payments Source, will look at how issuers can meet the challenges facing them in the coming months, whilst also safeguarding and future proofing any investment in emergent mobile payment and broader mobile commerce technologies.
Webinar attendees will gain a clear understanding of:
- Steps banks and issuers can take today to prepare for EMV migration.
- The role of EMV in NFC mobile payments.
- How an EMV investment today can fast-track mobile payments deployment tomorrow.
- Understand better how Apple Pay, Samsung Pay and other initiatives fit into the mobile payments landscape – and what that means for an issuer.
- The role of Value Added Services such as mobile loyalty and couponing.
